Sunday Evening

Things are off to a great start here at Wapo! After all the kids got through registration, they met with their cabin groups for pizza dinner, cabin bonding, and their first Bible study. Then they were introduced to all of the camp staff and played opening games before campfire.

At campfire, the kids got to sing their favorite camp songs, watch their counselors in a silly skit, and hear a message from our Executive Director, Loren Teig. After campfire, we had our first specialty worship of the week: Drawn to the Word. Pastor and Painter Paul Oman comes each week and depicts a Bible story for kids through painting. This week Paul painted the story of the Good Samaritan. While he paints, counselors accompany him with music, dance, and spoken word. It is a great way for campers to experience a variety of ways to bring glory to God.

After Drawn to the Word, the kids were off to their cabins for night time devotions and a good night’s rest to prepare them for all the fun in store within the next few days! We are so excited about sharing this week with your kids!
