Our kids opened their morning once again with a chapel service, where they learned about the ways Jesus served during his time on Earth. They heard through a monologue the story of Jesus washing his disciples’ feet on the night he was betrayed.
One of the best parts of camp for many kids is the free time. Wapo has a lot to offer kids during this time. Here are just a few of the activities kids were up to this afternoon:
After dinner tonight, the kids had the chance to get some ice cream at our weekly Ice Cream Social.
After that, the counselors were able to serve the kids at our annual Servant Fair. The kids are free to go to a number of stations that offer them services such as hair washing, balloon animals, shaving cream hair, caricatures, nail painting, and many more. This event fits perfectly with our theme for the day: He Served, We Serve.
Campfire tonight was split for the alpha and beta campers, giving the kids a chance to worship in a smaller setting with their peers. The night is ending with another specialty worship called Light Worship. Scenes from the story of Jesus are displayed in silhouettes by counselors behind a back lit sheet. It is a captivating and memorable presentation of the gospel for kids.
Soon the kids will be off to the cabins to do a devotional and head to bed for our last full day at camp tomorrow!
