Good afternoon everyone! It’s been a sunny day so far! In the morning we had chapel, field games, Bible study and cabin time! After lunch we had swim tests and our first free time! During free time, campers can choose from a number of activities such as GAGA, Nine Square, Art Shop, Canteen, Wapo Shoppo, Carpetball and the beach!
Our theme for today is “Called to the Race”! Our skit and speaker during chapel were centered on how we are all called to the race and to follow Jesus.
At field games, we played three different games: Medic, GAGA, and Nine Square.
Medic is a dodgeball style game with one twist. You have to choose one medic with your team. If you get hit with a dodgeball, you have to sit down and wait for your medic to come rescue you.
When medic begins, campers race to the middle of the field to get dodgeballs!
Our campers were planning strategically and looking for the other teams’ medic.
Careful not to get hit with a dodgeball!
We also learned how to play GAGA, which is a camp favorite for many of our campers!
We also had swim tests this afternoon and learned all about the rules as well as the fun options at the beach including the raft, the water trampoline, the slide, and boats!
These TIM teamers were ready to take on the swim tests!
Counselor, Karl, was warming up his campers with some aerobic exercises!
These campers were ready to rock swim tests!
We love swim tests!
These guys got green bands!
A green band means you can swim anywhere in the swim area and take out a boat by yourself!
A lot of campers stopped by the art shop today during free time! The craft of the day was survival bracelets!
Some campers also worked on some chalk art during free time…
…others played Nine Square…
…and some got sweet treats at the canteen!
It’s been a busy day and we’re still not done yet! This evening we’ve got Capture the Flag, canteen time, campfire, and Beta Worship (for our 7th-9th grade campers).
