We have had a fantastic day and a half of camp, and we can’t wait for another half day more tomorrow!
Yesterday afternoon after everyone was gathered we got to know our cabin mates and then had pizza for supper. After dinner we dove right into our first Bible Study about a leader named Joshua who God commanded to “Be strong and be courageous, do not be terrified, for I am with you.” After that we saw our counselors perform some pretty goofy skits and we had a lot of laughs! We played a rousing game of “Ships Across the Ocean” and ended our evening with a campfire worship.
This morning we woke up and had some sticky french toast sticks with bacon, and then went straight to morning Chapel and Bible Study where we learned about how Jesus calmed the storm in Mark 4. The next couple hours before lunch we shopped at the Wapo Shoppo, played Gaga and 9-Square, and tie dyed some bandannas to take home! After lunch we had a bit of quite time and rest before we continued on our busy day!
The afternoon was spent at the beautiful Lindsay Beach where we splashed and played in the water, and also played some fun games on the beach. It was a little chilly but we all had fun! Later on we had a chance to get some yummy treats at the canteen, and also played games indoors as we waited for some rain showers to pass us–but don’t worry! The indoor games were a ton of fun!
Tonight we had our Servant Fair where counselors served the kids by braiding hair, arm wrestling, face painting, nail painting and more! We played our favorite game, Mighty Mighty Scoop Noodle Challenge before headed to our campfire worship. We are now munching on s’mores and having night time devotions. We’ll sleep well tonight!
